A woman wanted to name her son after a Harry Potter character but she changed her mind after someone pointed out to her that the word had a hidden meaning.
Sharing her story anonymously, the woman said she wanted to call her son Libatius, after Libatius Borage - a fictional potion maker from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The new mum thought the name was unique and shared the find with others on parenting blog Mumsnet, but soon she was inundated with comments from people saying she should reconsider.
Others pointed out that the word is very similar to libation, which means to pour wine, and libatius is a slang term in some parts for a drunk person.

After she found the name, the mum shared it online and wrote: "Libatius for a boy. Pronounced Lye-Bay-Shus.
"Came across the character Libatius Borage while re-reading Harry Potter and thought Libatius is actually a lovely name. Wondering what Mumsnet thought of it?
"Bit out there? Or a charming name that deserves more attention?"
But soon her plans were dashed, as other users of the website unanimously slated the name.
One said: "Don’t be daft. Are you serious?"
While another added: "Honestly? Sounds like one of Jacob Rees-Mogg's kids."
A third wrote: "It makes me think of alcohol (libation) so do consider that."

Then a fourth added: "Please don't do that to a child."
But one user took the name more seriously and gave a thought out response.
They said: "In ancient Greek, a libation was an offering poured on the ground as an offering to the Gods.
"More recently it refers to an alcoholic beverage and a libatius person is a drunk.
"So no. Pretty word, not so great meaning. Like Syphilis."
