Red-faced Holly Willoughby gets the giggles over ‘girthy banana' and other rude veg

This Morning 's Holly Willoughby was rather red-faced during a hilarious segment on Wednesday's show about rude food.

Chuckling at a viewers' photo of a double banana in one skin, Phil said: "When he picked up the banana he knew it was a big one."

"It has got some girth, I'll give him that," remarked Holly, as the pair collapsed into giggles.

"But look at the difference in colour from one side of the banana skin to the other, one of those bananas is older than the other for a start," said Holly, suspicious of the viewer.

"One is not even ripe, the other is a few days old, and I have a banana here, I remember there was a trick you can do where you cut the banana and you open it it's all in bits.

Phil then attempted the tricky feat, trying to cut a banana in half without breaking the skin, using a long needle.

"I can't believe we are doing this on TV!" quipped a baffled Phil.

Other photos sent in by viewers included a green pepper with a smiley face, which Holly claimed was also fake.

As a rather phallic sweet potato popped up on screen, Phil said: "Have a look and tell us if you think this is real, or just wishful thinking!"

"I don't quite know what to say about that, I can't look at that any longer," stammered Holly.

The duo then burst out laughing at a sad ham and an angry pie as the hilarious photos appeared to show faces on the food.

"Emma says, 'I bought a bag of carrots and found this interesting shaped one'," chuckled Phil as the carrot popped up on the screen.

Other entries included curly cuddling carrots, and the face of Jesus on a potato.

Holly remarked that another carrot looked "smart" and was saying "oh look at me" before she looked a bit closer and said, "Oh, I didn't realise it was naked!

"I didn't realise it doesn't have its trousers on."
