Poor Charlotte Hawkins was scolded today by a viewer who broke the news that she was flashing her underwear live on TV.
The Good Morning Britain host was forced to apologise for “any offence caused” after Lorraine MacDonald got in touch with the ITV show to tell her she needed to take more care with her clothing choice.
Charlotte, 44, was left a little red-faced as colleague and wind-up merchant Piers Morgan read out the viewer's criticism of her outfit.
He said: "Lorraine MacDonald - who says, ‘Tell Charlotte to fasten her dress at the back, she's showing her bra’."
Charlotte apologised for her fashion faux pas, but Piers rubbed salt in the wounds by dragging the issue out at her expense.
He said: "I had a little sneak peak and indeed she is showing her bra."
Charlotte retorted: "I'll tell you what, it's an open-backed dress and what I hadn't foreseen is that we do these camera shots around the back.
“So I apologise if I've offended you by flashing my underwear in an inappropriate moment."
But Piers wasn’t done with her just yet, and continued ribbing her.
"It is a family show!" Piers said. "It would be nice if you keep the clothes on for another hour-and-a-half.
"Just leave the stripping for your numerous photo shoots you're engaging in these days."
Charlotte, who was laughing by this point, had another stab at apologising before Piers thanked the viewer for her input.
"Lorraine, thank you for pointing that out," Piers said.
"A very unnecessary display of flesh and lingerie by my co-worker."
