A thrilling Red Arrows simulator for anyone who’s ever wanted to experience being a pilot will be at Aerospace Bristol for Easter. The line-up of family events for the holiday week ahead includes a Piper Tomahawk and Piper Seneca simulators for older children to try out and some fun pedal planes for small pilots in training.

The Red Arrows simulator will be ready from Thursday , April 6, which will give a cockpit eye-view as pilots practise their intricate displays over their winter base in Cyprus. A smaller version of this simulator will be in the Aerospace Bristol museum café for younger pilots to try out.

Also lined up for young pilots, the Joystick Club’s two full-size cockpits simulators based on a Pier Tomahawk (single engine) and Piper Seneca (twin engine) will be there on Tuesday, April 4, and Wednesday, April 5. These simulators both have full working controls and a visual display that enables a short flight to be completed.

The Club’s members are current and retired pilots and the seven Pedal planes are modelled on historic aircraft, including the Red Arrows Hawk trainer. All the aircraft are based on their full-sized counterparts and where a child is unable to pedal, “push sticks” can be attached to the tail of each plane so an adult can guide them around.
