Red Arrows Edinburgh flypast CANCELLED due to bad weather

A planned Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight over Edinburgh today has reportedly been cancelled due to bad weather.

LBC news reports the flight was cancelled at the last minute as eager locals were left waiting.

The flights were able to be heard from a distance, but the low cloud forced the planned flypast over Edinburgh Castle to be called off.

The flight was scheduled to mark the 75th anniversary of VJ day.

Victory over Japan day took place on 15 August 1945 and is remembered as a monumental day in World War II as it helped to bring the battle to an end.

The famous Red Arrows - who are known for their red, white and blue trail and incredible stunts - were meant to fly over the city at around 11:30am.

it unknown whether they will make other visits scheduled today, including Belfast where they were meant to travel to after Edinburgh.

Nicola Sturgeon and Boris Johnson joined others across the UK commemorating the battle and those who were killed and injured.
