Recycle your way to a better world

After the success of the Green Roof Project which was completed in June, Tetra Pak continues its commitment to a low-carbon circular economy with the launch of "The Green Shelter Project for Friends in Need (of 'Pa') Volunteers Foundation", which accepts donation of used beverage cartons from now until August 2025.

A collaboration with the foundation, Thai Red Cross Society and Big C, the new initiative aims to collect and recycle used beverage cartons into new construction materials to be used to build homes for the victims of natural disasters.

Over the past 12 years, the Green Roof Project had collected more than 2,500 tonnes of used beverage cartons and recycled them into 68,000 roofing sheets, which were donated to help many households suffering from natural disasters and those in need in various areas throughout the country.

The new collaborative campaign builds on this success. However, it expands to produce a variety of quality construction materials other than roofing sheets, such as eco-wood, eco-bricks and door frames.

Joining the project to support the expansion of drop-off points for the composite packaging are Central Pattana and Bangchak Corp.

Those interested to contribute to the project can donate the cartons of any sizes at the drop-off stations located at all Big C Supercenter stores nationwide and 10 selected branches of Mini Big C supermarkets within Bangchak gas station in Bangkok, as well as 18 Central department stores and affiliated office buildings in Bangkok and its vicinity.

However, donors are advised to cut open the containers, wash them and keep them dry before donation. Alternatively, they may simply keep the empty boxes flat or fold them in a way that prevents air from entering the boxes.
