Recruits in 2024 cycle recently crystal balled to Ohio State

The landscape of college football recruiting has changed and Ohio State is trying to keep up with all the movement.

Not only do teams have to deal with Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), there’s an accelerated schedule that includes the early signing period, and summer official visits.

Just a few weeks ago it seemed like head coach Ryan Day and his staff were struggling, but a hot streak which saw commitments from Marc Nave, Deontae and Devontae Armstrong, James Peoples, Mylan Graham, and Air Noland have quelled any questions about the Buckeyes recruiting success.

It’s not stopping there either, as multiple new crystal ball picks for OSU were made recently, and here are each of the prospects that got one and the 247Sports insider that choose them. (All rankings are by the 247Sports composite rankings.)

Bryce West - Sean Scherer

Breakdown

Although Scherer is a Michigan State insider, he’s been very solid with his crystal ball projections, hitting on almost 80% of his guesses. You have to like how Cleveland Glenville cornerback West’s recruitment is trending the Buckeyes way at the moment.

Bryce West 2.0 - Wiltfong

Breakdown

Another one for West, who currently has 5 total crystal ball picks, all to Ohio State. He would be a massive pickup for Day, given that he’s rated as the No. 4 best cornerback and 49th overall player in the nation.

Damarion Witten - Steve Wiltfong

Breakdown

Teammates of West’s, Witten isn’t just a throw-in, he’s a very solid tight end. Rated as the No. 18 player at his position and 351st overall, it looks like Ohio State will continue to have a solid pipeline to Glenville.

Miles Lockhart - Wiltfong

Breakdown

It looks like according to Wiltfong’s sources, Ohio State really made an impression on Lockhart, who is set to commit on July 6th. The Arizona cornerback is the No. 31 best at his position and 375th nationally. Also, notice where that tweet was sent from?
