Roughly 7 percent of all high school athletes go on to play in college. The cold, hard truth is that competing at the collegiate level will not become a reality for the vast majority of high school athletes.
For those of you who are lucky enough to go through this process, don’t take it for granted. Enjoy the process. Be thankful for every letter, every email, every text and every phone call. Be proud that your hard work is being noticed. But keep in mind, signing is just the beginning.
