Record-tying TD from Aaron Rodgers to Robert Tonyan ties game with Bears

The Green Bay Packers’ opening touchdown of Sunday’s showdown with the Chicago Bears tied the game at seven.

The score also tied a pair of franchise records.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers hit tight end Robert Tonyan for a 3-yard touchdown, capping off a 12-play, 80-yard scoring drive for the Packers.

The touchdown pass was Rodgers’ 45th of the season, tying his franchise record, and the touchdown catch was Tonyan’s 11th of the season, tying the franchise record (Paul Coffman, 1983).

The Bears marched down the field on the opening drive for a touchdown, but the Packers’ top-ranked scoring offense responded in kind.

Rodgers completed all five of his passes for 45 yards, including first-down conversions to Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Aaron Jones. Davante Adams caught one pass for nine yards and drew a penalty on fourth down, extending the drive.

The Packers need a win over the Bears to clinch the No. 1 seed.
