Record Store Day in Bristol: All the best pictures as crowds pack music shops

Music lovers descended on independent record stores across Bristol today.

Record Store Day (April 13) attracted big crowds in the city, with special vinyl releases and in-store performances at shops including Idle Trade on City Road and Rough Trade on Nelson Street.

Now in its eleventh year Record Store Day was started in 2008 as a way to celebrate the culture of the independent record store scene.

Idle Hands offered a wide array of local and international house, techno, dubstep and reggae music.

The store hosted DJs including Sunun and Om Unit.

Rough Trade, open until 12am, has a long list of special releases and performances from acts such as Rozi Plain, Band of Skulls and Steve Lamacq.

Longwell Records in Temple Street, Keynsham, had live sets from Ethan Johns and Rosina Keri, along with a 10 per cent discount on stock.

Punk and indie store Specialist Subject Records, in the Old Market, had a selection of special Record Store Day editions.

Radio/On, in Park Street, hosted a gig from Slagheap, Bucky and Porridge Radio.

There are also special offers at Friendly Records in North Street, Plastic Wax Records in Cheltenham Road and Wanted Records in St Nicholas Market.
