MIAMI _ The Miami Heat put together one of its best defensive performances of the season in an impressive win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.
But the Heat used another formula Wednesday, one that has become the norm this season. Miami used a record-setting three-point shooting display to overcome spotty defense in a 116-113 victory over the Orlando Magic (27-35) at AmericanAirlines to extend its winning streak to four games.
The Heat (40-22) won the season series over the Magic 3-1. It's the first time Miami has won the season series against Orlando since the 2015-16 season.

Miami, which entered with the league's second-best team three-point shooting percentage this season, set a new franchise record with 22 made threes on 44 attempts Wednesday. The previous team record for threes made in a game was 21 against the Charlotte Hornets on April 5, 2017.
Second-year forward Duncan Robinson led the Heat with 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting on threes. He's now three away from setting a new team record for threes made in a season, which is currently held by Wayne Ellington (227 made threes in 2017-18).
Veteran guard Goran Dragic also played a part in the Heat's three-point success, with 25 points on 5-of-9 shooting from deep.
But despite the Heat's record-setting shooting night, the Magic hung close most of the way. Miami led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but the Magic rallied to make it a back-and-forth affair in the second half.
Orlando led by as many as three in the fourth quarter, but its final lead of the night came at 106-105 with 4:50 to play. From there Miami used an 11-7 run to earn the win.
The Magic still had a chance to send it to overtime, with possession and trailing by three points with 6.2 seconds remaining. But Aaron Gordon missed a corner three in the final seconds.
Guard Terrence Ross led the Magic with 35 points on 12-of-18 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 shooting on threes. Center Nikola Vucevic finished with 22 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.
Wednesday's win marked the end of the Heat's five-game homestand, which ended up being a pretty good one after it began with a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Miami posted a 4-1 record during its stretch at home.
The Heat begins a two-game trip Friday against Zion Willamson and the New Orleans Pelicans.
