Scotland facing jobs crisis amid 282,000 workers on furlough as Sarwar demands plan from Sturgeon and Johnson

A warning that a tidal wave of unemployment could hit Scotland has been issued after figures revealed that more than one in ten working Scots are sitting at home on furlough.

Labour's Anas Sarwar MSP said a Scottish jobs crisis is hidden behind figures that show 282,800 people in Scotland were furloughed by the end of December 31, up from 195,200 at the end of October.
