A man is fighting for his life and and two teenagers are in hospital after a car left the road and crashed into a tree.

An investigation in underway to establish the circumstances of the crash.

Pensioner dies in horror house fire near Castle Douglas as police launch probe

A pensioner has died in a horror house fire near Castle Douglas this morning.

The 91-year-old was declared dead at the scene of the tragedy on Main Street, Crossmichael, which took place just before 4am on Monday January 25.

Nicola Sturgeon announces four new coronavirus deaths and 752 cases in Scotland

A further four coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland over the last 24 hours.

The First Minister also announced that 752 new cases of COVID-19 were reported overnight, taking the total figure to 172,953.
