A Scots mum who lost more than two stone during pregnancy after suffering from severe morning sickness says her baby was lucky to survive.

Ashleigh Kirkwood was left so malnourished from constant vomiting that when her son Jacob was born his umbilical cord snapped off because of damage to the placenta.

Murder accused said to have knifed victim in the neck before setting fire in his home

A suspect has appeared in court charged with murdering a man by knifing him in the neck and then setting a fire in his home.

John Thomas, 38, is accused of killing John Dalziel, 47, at the alleged victim's home in Paisley, Renfrewshire.
