Former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll could be set to make his Champions League debut at the age of 33.
According to a report by Birmingham Live, the former England international is closing in on a move to Belgian club FC Bruges.
The 6ft 4" target man is a free agent after his short-term contract with West Bromwich Albion expired at the end of the season. Belgian champions Bruges have just clinched their 18th league title under the management of ex-Baggie Carl Hoefkens and will qualify automatically for the Champions League Group Stage.

Liverpool broke their transfer fee club record when they bought Carroll from Newcastle United for £35million on January transfer deadline day back in 2011, straight after Fernando Torres was sold to Chelsea for £50million. The Geordie spent a year and a half on Merseyside but was never involved in a Champions League squad during his stint, before exiting for West Ham on loan in the Summer of 2012 - a deal that eventually became permanent.
Should Carroll complete a surprise move to Bruges - where he would be link up with former Liverpool teammate Simon Mignolet - he will be on course to make his Champions League debut as a 33-year-old.
After spending six seasons with the Hammers, Carroll re-joined home club Newcastle United before a spell at Reading then West Brom. He earned nine England caps during his international career, scoring twice.
