Record labels join forces for World Music Day

30 famous artists and acts from seven major record labels will be sharing the stage during the “JOOX World Music Day X EmQuartier 2018” held to mark today’s World Music Day.

Focusing on the theme “Music Changes the World”, the festival will see two to six singers/bands from each label at a time take turns to perform for one and a half hours each at Quartier Avenue, ground floor of the EmQuartier, today and tomorrow, starting at 3pm.

Today will see The Rube, Morning Soon, and Mild (from Spicy Disc) perform from 3.30-5pm; followed by Whal and Dolph, Hers, Chart Suchart and Singto Numchoke (from What the Duck) from 5.30-7pm; and Pop Pongkool, Pat Klear, Tul Apartment Khunpa, Opor Praput and Paowalee (from GMM Grammy) from 7.30-9pm.

Tonight will wrap up with a group of children from Immanuel Music School at Klong Toey headed by Varin Ajvilai, aka Kru Ton Kluay, from 9.30pm to 10pm.

Tomorrow’s line-up comprises of Two Pills After Meal and Summer Stop (from Small Room) from 3-4.30pm; and Scrubb, The X Factor and 60 Miles (from BEC Tero Music) from 4.45pm to 6.15pm.

Then Earth Patravee, Indigo, Songkran, Film Bongkot, O-Pavee and Foam (from Muzik Move) will take to the stage from 6.30-8pm before the festival will conclude with music performances by Telex Telexs, Wonderframe and D Gerrade (from Warner Music) from 8.15pm to 9.45pm.

During each session on both days, one selected artist/act from each label will also perform one special song as an income-generating tool to raise funds for seven charitable organisations: Pu Puay Kwam Jum Suem to be performed by Mild; Na Do by Singto Numchoke; Sing Khong by Klear; Do Ma by Slur; Roy Yim by Scrubb; Dai Mai by Songkran; and Yu Dee Dee Ko Hai by Wonderframe.

These songs’ live renditions can be viewed via JOOX music streaming and JOOX will donate money equivalent to each song’s view counts (one view is one baht) to the Alzheimer Foundation of Thailand, Foundation for the Blind in Thailand, Rama Foundation, Home for Handicapped Animals Foundation, Operation Smile Thailand, Thai Red Cross and Mirror Foundation.

There is no admission fee to the festival. Call 02-259-8345 or 02-269-1000 ext 1084.
