Record-breaking crowd watch as Nottingham Forest claim yet another derby win

Nottingham Forest Ladies recorded a memorable victory over Derby County at Pride Park Stadium.

The Reds won 1-0 in Derby, with the match watched by a record 2,318 fans – nearly 700 more than last year’s match which was then a record.

Former Rams forward Precious Hamilton netted the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute to give the Reds the win.

It was Derby who had the first chance of the game in the fourth minute, as Ellie Gilliatt’s effort went wide of goal after a swift counter-attack by the Ewe Rams.

Defender Emily Owen almost opened the scoring for the hosts  a few minutes later, after her header from a corner went just over the bar.

Owen then had another opportunity to break the deadlock, but her strike was cleared off the line by the Forest defenders, and the match went into the half-time interval goalless.

The second half saw Derby defender Sherry McCue sent off after picking up a second yellow card of the game in the 65th minute.

The first, and only, goal of the game eventually came in the 83rd minute as Hamilton got on the end of a cross to nod the ball into the net and earn Forest all three points.
