A pug was found tied to a tree in Wilmslow.
Lukas Rabin called a dog warden out to check on the dog, which is now 'safe and warm'.
He is keen to locate the animal's owner and is appealing for CCTV footage along Alveston Drive.
The male pug has been treated by a vet, but is not chipped making it more difficult to track down the owner.
Lukas took to Facebook after finding the pug at 7.15am on Tuesday, November 19, CheshireLive reports.
He has had a massive response, but there have been no clues as to the dog's owner.
"He's safe, warm, being well fed, cuddled and currently playing with his new reindeer toy," Lukas said.
"The warden has visited and checked him over. He definitely isn’t chipped.

"He is staying with us for at least the 28-day period when he will be eligible for adoption."
"It is really important to find out anything we can about where he may have come from, so anyone who thinks they recognise him, please send me a message.
"Also, if you know anyone who has CCTV footage covering Alveston Drive, Wilmslow, I’d be eager to see it.
"I’ve been inundated with messages of support and advice which is just incredible, shows how much we love our dogs.
"You’d have thought, given this attention, we’d have found a frantic owner by now.
"We remain open minded as to how he ended up there.
"I have had many offers to re-home him, but any choice on a new home (if his owners don’t come forward) would be made by our chosen charity, who are far better making this choice than me."
