'Reckless' vandals 'slash tyres' of Scots ambulance as paramedics go to emergency call

Cops are hunting 'reckless' vandals who attacked a Scots ambulance as it was responding to a call.

The emergency vehicle was set upon as it was parked on Aberdeen's Kittybrewster Square between midnight and 12.30am on Tuesday.

Paramedics were responding to an emergency call at the time.

It has been reported that the tyres of the vehicle were slashed by the sick thugs.

Constable Beattie of Mastrick Police Station urged anyone with information to come forward to help aid the police investigation.

He said: "This has been a reckless act involving an ambulance which was responding to a call at the time.

"I am appealing for anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact Mastrick Police Station via 101 quoting reference 0132 of 28 September 2021. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted in confidence on 0800 555 111"

Paramedics have been facing increasing pressure in Scotland in recent months with accident and emergency departments stretched.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
