Reckless Fife motorist caught driving on the wrong side of busy A92 dual carriageway

Police raced to the A92 in Fife yesterday after reports of a motorist driving the wrong way down the busy road.

The orange vehicle was caught on shocking dash cam footage, which shows the reckless driver on the opposite side of the busy dual carriageway at around 6.55pm.

One local driver told the Daily Record, how he frantically flashed his lights warn oncoming drivers before calling the police.

The eyewitness told the paper: "The police were called by myself and others were heard by the operator calling in too.

"Most drivers heading to Lochgelly on the correct side of the dual carriageway flashed our lights to warn oncoming drivers.

"Unfortunately the cameras on my Tesla Model didn’t pick up the registration plate."

By the time police arrived at the scene there was no trace of the dangerous driver.

They are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.55pm on Sunday, 11 October, 2020, we received reports of a car driving in the wrong direction on the A92 between Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly.

“Officers attended and searched the area but there was no trace of the car.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2962 of 11 October, 2020.”
