Reckless Edinburgh climber scales 250ft construction crane in city centre

Shocking footage of a reckless climber scaling a 265 ft construction crane in the city centre has emerged on social media.

The clip appeared on TikTok on Sunday and shows the view high above Edinburgh following the dangerous stunt.

Making the precarious position even more nail-biting, the climber pulls out their phone to capture the sights from atop the crane.

After ascending in darkness, the video shows the bright lights of Waverley Station bursting through its glass roof.

The irresponsible social media user then pans down to the ground, showing just how treacherous the antic was.

Other landmarks, such as the Scotsman Hotel and Edinburgh Castle, can be spotted as the climber waves his phone around atop the crane.

When the St James Quarter was still in development in 2020, contractors Laing O’Rourke slammed YouTuber Jamieboy after he clambered up one of their cranes.

The most recent Edinburgh risk-taker didn’t reveal their face in the death-defying video, posting it to an anonymous account on TikTok.
