A driver was found hiding in a garden after they ploughed into a number of cars in a hit and run this afternoon.
The motorist crashed into several vehicles on Maplewood Road in Springfield, Tallaght at around 1:30pm.
Once the car came to a stop, the driver fled the scene but was later found and arrested by gardai, Dublin Live reports.
A driver and a passenger in the cars that were hit were taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment on minor injuries.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí attended the scene of a hit and run traffic collision that occurred this afternoon Saturday 15 th May, 2021 at approximately 1.30p.m on Maplewood Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
"One vehicle struck a number of vehicles and the driver fled the scene when the car came to a stop. A driver and passenger received minor injuries and were removed to Tallaght Hospital for treatment.
"The driver was later located hiding in a garden and has since been arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Investigations ongoing."
