Recap of 7-round mock draft for Vikings

Our friend Luke Easterling put together his first seven-round mock draft of 2019 earlier this week.

It’s a fun exercise and even though it’s more than two months before the draft, it’s good research as a fan to see what positions your team might be interested in, and then after, what players play those said positions.

Here’s a look at how the draft ended up going for the Vikings:

1st round (pick No. 18) – T, Dalton Risner, Kansas State
2nd round (pick No. 50) – DL, Gerald Willis III, Miami
3rd round (pick No. 81) – S, Amani Hooker, Iowa
4th round (pick No. 113) – LB, Terrill Hanks, New Mexico State
6th round (pick No. 176) – TE, C.J. Conrad, Kentucky

This doesn’t account for the three compensatory picks the Vikings will receive.

I don’t disagree with the picks. Offensive line and safety are big needs, and defensive line, linebacker and tight end could be depending on what the Vikings do this offseason.
