Recap: Michigan State beats Albion 85-50 in first exhibition of the basketball season

And with that, the Michigan State Men’s Basketball season is officially underway. Michigan State just knocked off Albion at the Breslin Center in their first match-up of the season 85-50.

Xavier Tillman led the way in scoring for the Spartans with 19 points and 8 rebounds, including 2 three-pointers. If this is the Tillman we are getting this season, he is going to get fans, analysts, and NBA scouts drooling. Cassius Winston also added 16 points and 9 assists to the big night for the Spartans.

Rocket Watts struggled putting the ball in the basket, but he was able to add 5 rebounds and 4 assists to the box score to round out the night. Malik Hall had 9 points and seems like he’ll be able to contribute this season as well. In other newcomer news, Steven Izzo checked into the game for one minute and scored his first ever point on a free throw.

It wasn’t Aaron Henry’s best game of his life, but he did flash some of that athleticism he showed off this summer:

Not to be outdone, here’s a nice dunk from freshman Julius Marble:

And get ready to see A LOT of this over the course of the season:
