- Pizza and bread products, including Trader Joe's Focaccia Bread with Roasted Tomato & Parmesan and Hello Fresh's Basil Pesto and Mozzarella Pizza, have been recalled in 10 US states.
- The recall was initiated due to concerns over metal shards found in the products.
- Bakkavor, a North Carolina-based company now acquired by Greencore USA, issued the recall after determining the metal fragments originated from roasted tomatoes provided by one of their ingredient suppliers.
- The affected products were distributed to Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia.
- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified this as a Class II recall, meaning the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
