Rebekah Vardy's expletive rage-fuelled messages to Jamie after Euro 2016

Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney's private lives were laid bare in the Wagatha Christie trial, which has now seen Coleen come out victorious.

Both Wags took the stand during the court case, with Coleen, 36, revealing new insights into her marriage with footie legend Wayne, and Rebekah, 40, confiding that she feared losing her unborn child, after the viral 2019 Instagram post which sparked the sensational saga.

The post saw Coleen suggest that Rebekah had leaked stories about her to the press, which the I'm a Celeb contestant vehemently denied, and sued the mum-of-four for libel, resulting in their dramatic showdown at the Royal Courts of Justice.

However, after the trial in May ended, there were still more surprises and revelations to come, with screenshots of WhatsApp messages between Rebekah and husband, Leicester City striker Jamie, released.

The messages, which centred on press reports from Euro 2016, were among a host of evidence that lawyers on both sides of the case agreed for release- and they certainly make interesting reading.

After the long-awaited ruling from Mrs Justice Steyn, we have taken another look at the private messages between Rebekah and her goal-scoring husband.

In a June 23 2016 exchange, Rebekah shared an article link with Jamie, referred to as “Hubby” on her phone, that reported then England football captain Wayne Rooney had “held talks” with Jamie about his wife.

“Seriously????” Rebekah messaged her husband.

He replied: “No not at all babes x”

“T***s trying to make me into a scapegoat X,” Rebekah said, with the footballer responding: “F*****g a**eholes x”

The trial heard that Wayne spoke to Jamie about his wife’s “media activities” during the Euro 2016 tournament because they were “causing problems and distractions”.

Giving evidence in the courtroom, Wayne claimed he had “100%” had an “awkward” conversation with his teammate about Rebekah after being asked to by then England manager Roy Hodgson.

In a statement issued outside the court, Jamie claimed Wayne was “talking nonsense”.

Although Jamie Vardy never gave evidence during the trial, therefore that claim was not tested under cross-examination by Coleen's lawyers.

In another screenshot, from the same day, Rebekah shared an article with the headline: “Wayne Rooney asks Jamie Vardy to make sure his wife lowers her social media profile during Euros”.

The mum-of-five wrote underneath to her husband: “Jesus… This must have come from somewhere! Bet it's his Mrs manager X”

Jamie then wrote: "That's all they ever do. It's like attack us as much as possible."

"Yep I know x", Rebekah responded.
