Rebekah Vardy's career 'ruined' after Wagatha Christie trial according to PR

A PR agent has claimed that Rebekah Vardy's career is in ruins after the iconically dubbed ' Wagatha Christie ' court case concluded its course last week, awaiting verdict.

As reported by the Mirror, the trial has seen Coleen Rooney 's lawyer David Sherborne QC accuse Mrs Vardy and her agent Caroline Watt of selling stories to the newspapers without Rooney's consent or knowledge.

Rebekah was the first to launch legal action against her former friend Coleen, accusing the footballer wife of causing "very serious harm to her reputation" after Rooneys infamous 2019 Instagram post went viral.

The post accused the fellow WAG of spilling her private information to The Sun newspaper - but Rebekah denies these claims vehemently.

Critics have slammed the expensive court battle as a "waste of time", with legal bills reportedly set to run into the millions.

And PR agent Nick Ede spoke to Closer magazine about the situation, stating he believes Mrs Vardy's career is now "in ruins", and the trial has been a “complete disaster on all levels” for the 40-year-old.

He said: "She’s come across as a nasty person who cannot be trusted… her brand is very badly tarnished and she’s totally unrelatable."

Nick also added that Rebekah has "shot herself in the foot" by making the situation a legal battle, and caused lots of "personal heartache" for herself.

He predicted she would try to “think of ways to reinvent herself”, and said she might even take part in a future series of Big Brother in an effort to show the public a “more likeable side”.

The PR agent added her behaviour in the past will make it difficult for her to become as successful as she was before, after appearing on hit reality shows including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Dancing On Ice.

He concluded: "But the truth is, it’s going to be very difficult for her to claw back because of how badly she’s come across."

In court documents released after the final day of the trial, Rebekah claimed she had lost work due to the accusation that she had leaked stories about Coleen to the tabloids, revealing she had missed out on a book deal as well as a brand endorsement deal.

The WAG pair will now face an agonising wait for the verdict, as the Wagatha Christie libel trial is now awaiting decision from the court.
