Rebekah Vardy quits social media ahead of Dancing On Ice 2021 series launch

Rebekah Vardy has vowed to steer clear of social media as she prepares for the launch of Dancing On Ice tonight.

The 38-year-old may be known as an avid social media user – but she says she will be ignoring her platforms as she prepares to take to the ice on ITV’s winter sport competition.

Rebekah – who has been paired with pro skater Andrew Buchanan for the imminent 13th season of Dancing On Ice – appears keen to avoid online critics.

With the celebs taking part in the show already spending weeks training ahead of the first live show, WAG Rebekah appears determined not to let her focus get distracted.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, she revealed she's ditching her socials in the run up to the launch, saying: "I’m not interested in what social media has to say.

“My focus on Sunday is my performance and I can’t control what other people say about me.

“We’ve worked really hard to get where we are and hopefully that will show and pay off.”

Rebekah has previously expressed fear that her “resting b***h face” will land her in trouble with DOI fans.

The mum-of-five said earlier this month: “I have this resting bitch face and I know I’ve got it but I’m smiling on the inside. I really am!

"To other people it looks like I’m miserable. Now the Botox is wearing off hopefully the happy features will start coming through.”

Meanwhile, Canadian dance partner Andrew was certainly put through the wringer during training – with Becky accidentally slashing his face open with her skate while practicing an ambitious move.

Recalling the heart-stopping moment with The Mirror last week, Rebekah said: “I injured Andy and that was the most horrific experience.

"I actually thought he was messing around to begin with, because he does like to rib me a bit.

"We were doing a move, and the last thing he said to me was, 'Don't kick me in the face'.

"I thought, 'Why would you say that? You're going to jinx us!'

"So we did what were doing and he nearly dropped me, and I thought, 'Oh sh*t.'

"I looked at him and he was holding his face, and I said, 'Stop messing about', and I laughed.

"Then he removed his hand from his face, there was blood everywhere, five kids and I can't deal with blood, I nearly passed out.

"I felt horrific, and all he was worried about was the show and tell the next day. I was like, 'Why are you worried about skating, I am worried about your face!'"

Dancing On Ice begins on ITV tonight at 6pm.
