Rebekah Vardy has compared Coleen Rooney to a pigeon who would "s**t in your hair" if she publicly argued with her, after her Instagram was exposed by Coleen for being the only account to see fake information about the Rooney family.
Their furious showdown - dubbed the Wagatha Christie affair - exploded onto the internet on Wednesday morning when cunning Coleen revealed how she'd baited Vardy's account with juicy false gossip to find out who had been leaking stories to a British newspaper.
Becky - married to footballer Jamie - emotionally denied being the source of the faux gossip, insisting the situation was too stressful to cope with because she's heavily pregnant.
And, in a response that is unlikely to build bridges, Rebekah has savagely insisted Coleen is no longer her friend.
Asked by the Daily Mail whether she and Coleen had argued, Becky said: "That would be like arguing with a pigeon. You can tell it that you are right and it is wrong, but it's still going to s**t in your hair."
Becky also argued she is too much of a novice at Instagram to understand how it works, saying numerous people have had access to her password over the years.
"I'm not an expert in social media — far from it. I only just learned how to do a re-post and had to have a lesson in how to change my format on Instagram," she said.
"I have no idea who it could be. I hope that we can find out what has actually gone on, that's my aim here. When I do, I will deal with it the right way."
Becky even cast doubt on Coleen's claims that the only account to have viewed her private Story was Vardy's - and said she's taking legal action against the allegations.
"We've asked for the proof, but it's not been forthcoming."
But she knew enough about the photo-sharing platform to realise Coleen's private account had blocked her earlier this year, and messaged her to ask if she'd done something wrong.
Coleen, she claimed, blamed one of her kids for messing around on her phone and accidentally blocking Becky.
The pregnant WAG was in Dubai when the Wagatha Christie story broke, but immediately got on the phone to Coleen after reading her statement on Twitter .
"I thought she was my friend but she completely annihilated me. She said: 'You know, I always really liked you, which makes it harder,'" she went on.
But Becky also insinuated Coleen had another, darker reason for throwing her under the bus.
"For someone to go public with something like this, there has to be something bigger behind it," she added.
"I keep on thinking about it and trying to figure it out. It's like trying to work out how someone does a magic trick. I don't know what the reason is — if I had the answer I would be over the moon."
