Rebecca Adlington has announced the birth of her second child.
Albie Bennett Parson was born today, Thursday, March 4.
The Mansfield-born swimmer informed the world of the news via her Instagram account.
She wrote: "Welcome to the world Albie Bennett Parson. 4.3.21."
Albie is her second child, who joins five-year-old sister Summer.
She is welcoming her baby son into the world with her boyfriend Andy Parsons - it is their first child together.
He arrived slightly late, as the sports star had an initial due date of February 27.
Rebecca shot to fame after winning two gold medals at the Beijing 2008 Olympics before winning a bronze medal at London 2012.
She subsequently had a leisure centre - The Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre - created in her name.
Speaking before the birth earlier this year, she took to Instagram to say: "Yep I'm ready to pop!
"So excited for the little one to arrive. I feel like it's gone quite quickly until now...
"Now it feels like it's dragging but then again we’re in lockdown and it's January."
