Rebeca Tavares has thanked supporters for the outpouring of sympathy her and Fabinho have received following the sad passing of the Liverpool midfielder’s father.
Rebeca announced the passing of Joao Roberto on Friday morning after Fabinho missed Thursday’s training session at the AXA Centre.
Hundreds of Liverpool supporters replied to Rebeca's message over the weekend on social media to offer condolences to the family of the former Monaco man.
The Brazilian missed Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Burnley at Anfield after being granted compassionate leave by the club.
Speaking ahead of the Burnley game, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp offered his condolences to Fabinho and the Tavares family.
And taking to Twitter, Rebeca thanked fans for their ongoing support and revealed the gestures they have received have warmed the midfielder’s heart.
“Fabinho and I greatly appreciate the massive outpouring of sympathy we have received after the recent loss of my father-in-law,” Rebeca wrote on the social media site.
“I just wanted to let you know that these gestures have warmed his heart. Thank for all prayers and thoughts. We love you all.”
