Reasons behind Cordy Glenn’s suspension begin to emerge

Details surrounding the conflict between the Cincinnati Bengals and left tackle Cordy Glenn continue to leak to the public.

After Thursday’s report of the Bengals fining Glenn for conduct detrimental to the team and his asking to be cut, we have a little more on the nature of the fines.

According to Jay Morrison of The Athletic, Glenn didn’t travel with the team, missed meetings and then practices:

What we do know is Glenn still is on the team, has been fined, did not travel to the Pittsburgh game against team wishes, missed meetings and — after Thursday — missed practices despite being fully cleared.

The reported $200,000 fine makes sense in this context. And besides Antonio Brown, players don’t really get hit for conduct detrimental fines in this range, which potentially speaks to the level of the impasse here.

While Glenn is still on the team, given this long-brewing issue and the last 24 hours or so, it’s fair to wonder how much longer he’s a member of the roster.

The Bengals suspended Glenn for one game, a move announced Friday.
