Reason why ITV muted Lewis Capaldi's Brits winners speech leaving viewers confused

ITV viewers were left very confused after ITV muted Lewis Capaldi's Brits winners speech.

The Glaswegian singer and Dave were among the big winners at a male-dominated Brit Awards.

Lewis took home the song of the year and best new artist awards, while Dave won the coveted album of the year gong for Psychodrama.

Chronicle Live reports, Lewis made his way up to the podium to accept his Brit award, swigging from a bottle.

But viewers were left perplexed after viewers couldn't hear what Lewis was saying during his acceptance speech for best new artist.

However, people inside the O2 Arena award show revealed what actually happened on Twitter with clips and tweets which revealed Lewis had said: "Thank you very f*****g much. See ya later."

With the broadcast going out on ITV before the 9pm watershed, his comments were censored.

Jack Whitehall didn't look too unimpressed when the camera panned back to him as he said: "I love that man!"

Both Lewis and Dave led the nominations prior to the ceremony, with both artists securing four nominations in the same categories.
