The reason for a large emergency services presence in Nottingham city centre has been explained by police.
Photos showed multiple ambulances and a police car attending an incident on Cheapside, Nottingham at around 5.10pm.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that they and East Midlands Ambulance Service had been called to a medical emergency.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers and EMAS ambulances responded to a medical emergency on Cheapside, Nottingham earlier.
"The incident was dealt with after a short amount of time and no further action was taken at the scene, there were no third parties involved.
"Emergency services have now cleared the area."
The nearby Tram service was not reported to have been affected by the incident.
