INDORE: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday visited bypollbound Khandwa district and announced a slew of development projects, including the opening two CM Rise schools, developing a hostel for tribal students, and providing tehsil status to Chaigao Makhan.
Chouhan, during his third visit to Khandwa-Burhanpur parliamentary seat in the last one month, also took out a roadshow.
While addressing a public gathering at a programme organised by the woman and child development department in Pandhana, Chouhan slammed the the erstwhile Congress government for allegedly closing public-centric schemes and only indulging in corruption. “Kamal Nath (while serving as CM) ruined the entire state. They stopped schemes started by the (previous) BJP-led government”, he said.
Chouhan said after he became the chief minister again, the outbreak of Covid-19 was a challenge. “From this land of Pandhana, I am making an announcement that every poor person will be provided a piece of land. It’s a necessity”, Chouhan said. He added that to provide employment opportunities in the state, recruitments will soon be started for one lakh posts. “It is the priority of the state government to enable people reap the benefits of government schemes”, he said.
Chouhan inaugurated 103 newly-constructed Anganwadi buildings in 32 districts and nutrition gardens. He also distributed scholarship of Rs21 crore in the accounts of 75,961 girl students under Ladli Laxmi scheme.
