Yet another driver attempted to navigate the flooded A555 - and ended up stranded.
The motorist, in a black BMW, had to be rescued by firefighters.
At least half a dozen drivers have attempted the same daft feat in recent days... with similarly disastrous results.
The A555, through Stockport, was submerged in flood water yet again on Wednesday morning, just hours after it reopened after being flooded earlier this week.
It was a similar scene today (Thursday).
The road was eventually closed, but not before some unfortunate drivers attempted to navigate it while it was still open, only to become stranded.
The stretch remains closed between the Woodford Oil Terminal and the A34.
Numerous images of stranded cars have been sent to the Manchester Evening News in the last few days.
Fire crews had to be scrambled to help free a tipper truck on Monday.
Staff, contractors and engineers remain on site trying to clear the rest of the road, pumping hundreds of thousands of litres of water.
Council bosses have already promised to replace a clearly inadequate pumping system on the road.

It comes just four months after three million litres of rainfall had to be pumped off the road in April, after a month's worth of rain fell on Greater Manchester in a day.
Town hall chiefs have promised a 'full and thorough investigation' into the latest flooding.
After decades in the planning, and months of delays, the A555's long awaited extension to the A6 in Hazel Grove was finally opened last October.
It was plagued by objections and disruption along the way.
Stockport's Conservative group has called for a full investigation into the issue, with Bramhall councillor Brian Bagnall saying: "Excuses about the wrong kind of rain and the wrong amount of rain are not good enough - we must see an engineering solution in place with no time to waste."
On Wednesday evening, a spokeswoman for Stockport council said: "We are doing all we can to get the A555 open as soon as possible and staff, engineers and contractors are working hard to get things moving.
"Our immediate priority is to get the road open and once this has happened we will then be in a position to assess what the issues have been and what measures we need to put in place to avoid this occurring in the future.
"It is too early to say what the issues have been but there will be a full and thorough investigation once the road has reopened.
"As part of ongoing planned maintenance, the pumping station was due to be replaced this week and this will happen once the water has been cleared.
"So far, 800,000 litres of water has been cleared by three additional pumps onsite. Our staff and contractors continue to be onsite and are working had to get the road open again.
"Once we have more information, we will update our social media accounts and website so please keep checking throughout the day for further information."
