'Really want' - Nottingham Forest's transfer aim as Chris Hughton makes Anthony Knockaert prediction

Chris Hughton says it is unlikely Nottingham Forest will do further business in the next week but they "really want" to do more in the January transfer window.

Anthony Knockaert will remain on loan for the rest of the season from Fulham, while Nicholas Ioannou has left the club to join Aris on loan until the end of the current campaign.

Forest are keen to add more creativity to their squad, but Hughton feels some patience might be needed.

"I don't know. If you to push me I'd say no, but you just don't know," he told BBC Radio Nottingham when asked if there would be more announcements in the next week.

"We really want to do something in January. That's as regards bringing in and also lightening the squad a little bit.

"It's hard work doing it and making sure whatever we do strengthens our squad. Otherwise there is no point doing it."

Knockaert's loan has not officially been announced, but Hughton is pleased the winger will stay at the City Ground having made 16 appearances for Forest, scoring once and adding two assists.

The manager is confident Knockaert will improve on those numbers in the games to come.

"I'm not sure it's 100 percent confirmed. It's something we wanted to do," he said.

"Anthony hadn't played regularly for a while. You'd like to think he'll improve in the second half of the season.

"He's still to find his consistent game. We know what he can bring.

"The ideal situation is to get whatever business we want to do in early. That doesn't always happen but with any work the earlier you can get it done (the better).

"We'll still be playing. It's not like you have three or four weeks in January without games. Whatever you can do early is a real plus."
