A man dressed as a giant broccoli appeared on GMB this morning, much to the confusion of viewers and hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan.
The man, who wore green face paint, sunglasses and a broccoli floret hat, was arrested by police on Sunday for his involvement in an Extinction Rebellion protest, holding a sign that read "I'm locally sourced and environmentally friendly".
The protester intended to appear on the show to inform viewers of the importance of the movement but insisted he made jokes throughout, infuriating the hosts - reports Mirror Online.
The man, branded an 'idiot' by Piers , continued to disrupt the interview by making plant- based jokes claiming his job was to "just grow" and calling him "peas", much to Susanna's annoyance.
If the interview wasn't bizarre enough, the protester then raised a banana to his ear saying: "Sorry I've just got call" with Susanna abruptly responding: "When you use the fruit and veg comedy comments, I don't think you're helping your cause at all."
Clearly still seething after the interview Susanna said: "I'm really cross. He had a fantastic opportunity to come on the programme and promote their cause and they ruined it"
And viewers rushed to share their thoughts on Mr Broccoli on social media.
