'Reality check' - Leeds United fans react to the club's 2018-19 accounts as losses increase

Leeds United fans have been giving their reaction to the posting of the club accounts for 2018/19.

The figures were released this morning, with the club showing mounting losses despite a record revenue for a Championship club that has not received parachute payments.

Leeds posted an operating loss of £36million and an annual loss of £21.4million.

The period covered the first season since Marcelo Bielsa's appointment, with wages for the coaching and playing staff increasing to £46million.

Below, we have gathered some of the comments fans have made since digesting the news.

Anders Palm : The numbers clearly shows the commitment from the owners!

Carl Murphy : Shows why we have to sacrifice a top player sale every year whilst we are in this league. Figures are no worse than the majority of top championship clubs but is certainly a reality to check to all those who think we should just throw all the money at promotion like Wolves did

Stuart Grant : Gulps. Sold a lot of players last summer, so hopefully the next set of figures might look a bit better

Jack Hayes : Why the 2.2m in rent? I thought Radz bought the stadium and leased it back for free?

Rob Brookes : Need to get promoted this season then?

Adam Shian : Terrible figures

Nigel Fairweather : If we don't go up, Phillips gets sold for 30 million and we're still ok financially

gazlufc : This is terrible. How on earth does a club like Leeds continue to leak huge amounts of money?
