James 'Arg' Argent is 'protecting mystery pal's drug shame' after 999 calls to his home

James 'Arg' Argent is protecting one of his close pals who sparked paramedics rushing to his home over drugs fears, according to rumours spread at his Spanish bar gig.

Fans were deeply concerned after paramedics rushed to his £1.3million home after he failed to answer calls for 12 hours.

His ex-girlfriend Gemma Collins is said to have alerted 999 amid concerns for his health.

But last night, Arg shrugged off the claims as he insisted paramedics were only at his home for 10 minutes.

The TV personality made an epic comeback to the limelight on the stage at Studio 63 in Palma Nova, Majorca, Spain on Wednesday.

Talk was rife in the local bar that someone Arg is close to is on coke and he is protecting the close pal.

Sources said Arg was playing his cards close to his chest as he has battled his own drug demons.

Sources insisted the reality star was healthy and there must be someone else involved.

Insiders said: "There's no way it's Arg. He looks happy and healthy.

"Someone close to Arg must have the coke problem."

Elsewhere, Arg admitted it had been "one hell of a week" on stage.

He said: "Ladies and gentlemen my name is James 'Arg' Argent.

"It's been one hell of a week for me, it's been a tough week but I'm so glad I'm here tonight.

"You've all really cheered me up!"

Arg brushed aside the drama after friends were said to be concerned about his party lifestyle and paramedics attended his home.

Arg has said of the incident on Thursday: "I wasn't speaking to a certain person so I didn't reply. They became concerned and called the police and ambulance. They turned up and checked on me. They came up to my room to make sure I was fine.

"My parents were already there. Then this person must have called again and the ambulance turned up at around 4pm and we had a quick chat on the doorstep. He said it was a lovely house.

"I wasn't speaking to this person for a reason and they were worried about my safety because I wasn't answering the phone. I was perfectly fine, we all had a chat and carried on the day with my parents, we were just hanging up pictures."

Arg added: “The police and paramedics were only here for about ten minutes. I'm slightly embarrassed really. I apologise for any wasted police time as I was absolutely fine."

In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 13.11hrs to a residential address following concerns for the welfare of male occupant. Officers attended with LAS [London Ambulance Service]. The male, in his 30s, was spoken to. He was left in the company of family.

"Officers were called at 16.21hrs to the same address, again due to concerns for the same male's welfare. The male declined assistance."
