Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez will both miss Real Madrid’s La Liga game at home to Leganes on Wednesday night.
Bale is still recovering from a calf problem picked up on international duty with Wales and was given permission by the club to travel to London to attend to a “personal matter” on Monday.
He returned on Tuesday night, but has not trained and is not included in the 19-man squad for the league clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, James announced on Monday that he is a father again and the Colombian playmaker has travelled to his homeland to meet newborn baby Samuel.
In the absence of those two, 18-year-old Brazilian forward Rodrygo is in line to feature again after making his first start for the club in last week’s 1-0 win away to Galatasaray in the Champions League.
His promotion and the return of Lucas Vazquez means there is no place in the squad for his compatriot, Vinicius Junior, with the 19-year-old excluded altogether by coach Zinedine Zidane.
Midfielder Marco Asensio is still sidelined with a long-term injury, while Nacho is also not ready to return in defence and right-back Alvaro Odriozola is suspended after his red card in the 1-0 defeat away to Mallorca prior to the international break.
Real Madrid possible XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Casemiro, Modric, Kroos; Rodrygo, Benzema, Hazard
Leganes possible XI: Cuellar; Rosales, Awaziem, Bustinza, Silva; Recio, Mesa, Rivera; Rodriguez, Carrillo, Braithwaite
