Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez have both been left out of Real Madrid’s squad to face Leganes in LaLiga on Sunday.
Bale has made only two appearances since the restart and was a peripheral figure in the team’s celebrations after they won the title on Thursday night.
James is absent again and has not been called up since asking to be left out of the squad for the trip to Athletic Club earlier this month.
With their futures uncertain, both Bale and James may have played their last game for the club, although Madrid are in action away to Manchester City in the Champions League next month.
Marcelo is also absent from Madrid’s 22-man squad with an adductor problem, although the Brazilian should be fit again for the Champions League.
Madrid have little to play for in this game against relegation-threatened Leganes, but coach Zinedine Zidane said: “We have got to respect the league and we will try to put in a good performance.”
Karim Benzema will start in attack as he aims to challenge Barcelona’s Lionel Messi for the Pichichi prize awarded to the competition’s top scorer, although the French forward is two goals behind the Argentine.
Eder Militao looks set to feature in central defence ahead of the City game next month, when he will come in for the suspended Sergio Ramos.
