Real Madrid 'will listen to offers' for Eden Hazard following Champions League exit

Real Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for Eden Hazard this summer to call time on his injury-ravaged spell in the Spanish capital.

That is according to a report in Marca, who say that the club’s patience with the Belgian star has run out and they will seek to move him on in the upcoming transfer window.

Madrid made Hazard their all-time club record signing in the summer of 2019 when they signed him from Chelsea, but the move has not worked out for the player.

The 30-year-old has scored a measly four goals for Los Blancos in that timeframe, none of which were decisive in the outcome of those matches.

Injuries have limited the former Blues star to just 21 starts out of a possible 72 in La Liga with multiple muscular injury setbacks.

His presentation at the club’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium in July 2019 saw 50,000 Madrid fans attend but now the mood of the fanbase appears to have turned on the star. Indeed, a poll in the latest report shows that just 13 percent of Madridistas believe Hazard should stay as he can improve while 33 percent believe he should be sold at any price.

Los Blancos are still in the midst of the title race in La Liga this season and will land the title if they win their remaining four fixtures and Atletico Madrid slip up - with their city rivals travelling to Barcelona this weekend.

However, the report claims that regardless of Hazard’s performance during that run it will not be enough to change’s the club decision on his future.

It is said that Madrid’s decision on the player’s future was made weeks ago and was not influenced by his performance in Wednesday night’s defeat at Chelsea, where he was filmed laughing and joking with his former teammates after the full-time whistle.

Hazard has three years remaining on his contract and he is said to retain the trust of boss Zinedine Zidane but the club do not share this vision.

Whilst the player’s lack of luck has been acknowledged, his form and physical shape has been questioned and has helped decide his future.
