Real Madrid 'weighing up Bruno Fernandes bid' after stars failed Man Utd transfer

Bruno Fernandes could put his disappointment at not securing a move to Man Utd behind him - by sealing a switch to Real Madrid .

The Sporting Lisbon star looked set to leave the Portuguese club for the Premier League this summer, after rumours linked him with both United and Tottenham .

Spurs saw a £55 million bid for the 24-year-old rejected, while United decided against a transfer.

But now Fernandes could be offered a route out of Sporting, after they offered his services to the Los Blancos.

AS report that Sporting have approached Madrid to tout interest in Fernandes, whom they are demanding £60 million for.

Madrid are believed to be weighing up a swoop for the midfielder with the September 2 transfer deadline fast approaching.

Much will depend on Madrid's other business in the market, as they keep tabs on the situations of primary targets Neymar and Paul Pogba.

Super agent Jorge Mendes is said to be involved in the negotiations, but Sporting will not accept anything lower than their valuation.

Fernandes has played in both of Sporting's opening fixtures, and got on the scoresheet in their 2-1 against Braga on Sunday.

Meanwhile in terms of Neymar, a report from L'Equipe suggests that Madrid have tabled a mammoth offer of £100m plus three players to PSG in exchange for the Brazilian.

Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Keylor Navas were all included in the proposition which was promptly rejected by the French club.

Barcelona are still locked in discussions with PSG and are hopeful of re-signing their former forward on an initial loan with obligation to buy.

The clubs are still yet to reach an agreement over the fee which would make the transfer permanent next summer.

Juventus are also in the running for his signature but Neymar's preference is to return to the Nou Camp.
