Three options the La Liga club reportedly have on their radar is Trent Alexander Arnold, Youcef Atal and Reece James.

However, the 22-year-old Liverpool man signed a new long-term contract in July that keeps him at the club until 2025.

As an academy graduate playing for his boyhood club who recently signed a new long-term contract, it's extremely unlikely Los Blancos will be able to tempt the England international away from Anfield anytime soon.

What?

Premier League clubs have been left on 'red alert' according to reports, as Marco Asensio's situation at Real Madrid has been described as 'tense'.

Game time under Carlo Ancelotti has been hard to come by for the 25-year-old, who could request to leave when the transfer window reopens in January.

Liverpool have been tentatively linked to Asensio for some time and rumours once again reemerged this summer following the departures of Georginio Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Spain international is in the final two years of his deal at Real Madrid, but would still demand a hefty transfer fee and there will be plenty of clubs across Europe monitoring his situation.

Swiss side Basel are planning to make a second attempt to sign goalkeeper Loris Karius in January, according to German outlet BILD.

The 28-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and Basel could return after a deal failed to materialise in the summer transfer window.

Karius is at the bottom of the pecking order as with Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian all preferred choices currently at the club.

The German shot-stopper has had loan spells with Besiktas and Union Berlin in recent seasons but his long-term future will soon be decided as his contract nears its conclusion.
