Real Madrid vs Osasuna lineups: Confirmed team news, predicted XIs and latest injury updates

Gareth Bale has been rested by Zinedine Zidane for Real Madrid's La Liga game at home to Osasuna on Wednesday night.

The Welsh winger is not in the 19-man squad for the clash at the Santiago Bernabeu, presumably with a view to building up his fitness ahead of Saturday's derby away to Atletico Madrid.

Brazilian forward Rodrygo returns from injury and is included in the list, along with Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius Junior and Luka Jovic.

In midfield, Zidane still has only four players available: Casemiro, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Fede Valverde. Isco and Luka Modric have returned to training after injury, but will not take part against Osasuna.

At the back, Ferland Mendy is out after picking up an injury on Tuesday and Marcelo is still not ready to return, so Nacho is expected to start at left-back.

Alvaro Odriozola is back and could come in on the right to give Dani Carvajal a rest ahead of the derby. Eder Militao could start in place of Raphael Varane for the same reason.

Predicted lineups

Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Odriozola, Militao, Ramos, Nacho; Casemiro, Kroos, James; Lucas Vazquez, Benzema, Hazard

Osasuna XI: Martinez; Vidal, David Garcia, Hernandez, Estupinan; Sanjurjo, Moncayola; Torres, Ruben Garcia, Ibanez; Chimy Avila
