Real Madrid have been La Liga’s standout team this season, and they get the chance to solidify that and continue their match to the title when they welcome Atletico Madrid to the Bernabeu tonight.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are already eight points clear at the top, and would move 13 points ahead of Atletico should they secure victory against them.
Real’s only defeat in the league this season came away to Espanyol at the start of October, but since then they have been relentless and are favourites to get the back of Diego Simeone’s side.
Last season’s champions have been nowhere near their best this season, and are down in fourth. But they did secure their place in the Champions League last 16 during the week, and will hope to use that as a platform from which to kick on.
