Real Madrid transfer news: Sergio Ramos opens up on China offer and whether he will finish career at Bernabeu

Sergio Ramos has confirmed his intention is to remain at Real Madrid for the rest of his career, but has left the door open for a move in the future.

Speculation linked the club captain with a move to China, but the Spanish centre-back has clarified his future ahead of Zinedine Zidane‘s first full season back at the Bernabeu.

Ramos, who joined Los Blancos in 2005, concedes there is a lucative offer on the table to move to China, but that he is intent on honouring his contract, which expires in 2021.

“It is true that I have an offer from China on the table, I will not lie about it,” said the 33-year-old.

“(But) my dream is to retire here.”

Ramos also rejected the notion that the rumours were designed to help him land a new contract.

“At no moment did I consider going to China,” he added.

“Yesterday I went to see the president to make everything clear.

“I told the president that I would never go to a team that could compete with Real Madrid.

“If one day I go then it is because I think my body does not allow me to give a high level.

“I am the captain of Real Madrid and I feel very loved and supported by my team-mates.

“I’m not looking to renew [my contract]. I am happy with what I have. People always think it’s a strategy to earn more, but it’s the opposite.”

With Eden Hazard linked with a move to the capital, Ramos insists he will be welcomed if he joins.

“Hazard is a great player,” Ramos said. “He is top. He’ll be a great addition to Real Madrid.

“I don’t know if he’s coming but he would bring a lot to this club.”
