Real Madrid still banking on Gareth Bale as part of Kylian Mbappe transfer plan

Real Madrid are hoping to sell Gareth Bale and several other players as they plot the signing of Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos have long been linked with a move for the French star and could soon make a play to lure him to the Bernabeu.

Mbappe is one of PSG's most prized assets and Madrid chief Florentino Perez needs several elements to fall into place if he is to seal the deal.

The Spanish giants are conscious that the World Cup winner is likely to cost around the record amount it took PSG to sign Neymar.

As such they have come up with a "formula" that they hope will work in their favour, reports AS.

The sale of players to raise at least €100m is what they hope to achieve.

One of those who they could move on is Bale, currently on loan at Tottenham.

The Welshman hasn't been able to nail down a regular role in north London but finding a buyer for the player has long been an issue given his hefty wages.

Current Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos will also be one of those whom they listen to offers for.

The playmaker has previously said he doesn't want to join the Gunners permanently given his desire to become a first team player at Madrid.

Isco, Luka Jovic and Brahim Diaz could also be moved on to raise funds.

Perez is also hoping to get a helping hand from Mbappe himself, who is in the midst of contract negotiations.

The 22-year-old will see his contract expire in 2022 meaning PSG could have their hand forced this summer were he to turned down their latest offer.

Los Blancos are even prepared to take him on loan initially should they not have the finances to make the deal happen.
