"You're going at a thousand miles an hour in a Clásico," he told Radio Onda Cero. "Really fired up, you say stuff, but look, it's things that are left out on the pitch: the tension makes you say this stuff."
It appears Reguilon has no issues with Messi despite their clash as he looks to continue building on his promising start to his senior career with Los Blancos.
He has hailed the support he's received from fans - but he insists veteran Brazilian Marcelo is still the No.1 left-back despite recently relegating him to the bench.

He stated: "The effort put in can't be denied and people see that, so they can't rebuke you for that.
"Also, having been through the Academy they care about me.
"He's (Marcelo) a really down to earth guy, I get on really well with him.
"He's the starter in the team."
